Los Feliz is one of the trendiest and most affluent areas in all of Los Angeles. The city is located south of Griffith Park, southeast of Atwater Village, northeast of Silverlake, north of East Hollywood, and southwest of Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills.
Los Feliz is home to everything from apartments and condos to multimillion-dollar mansions. The more affordable apartments and single-family homes are located in an area called Los Feliz Village, while many of the multimillion-dollar homes are located in the Los Feliz hills below Griffith Park. Homes in the hills offer privacy and amazing Los Angeles city views.
The hip area is very family friendly. There’s public and private schools.
The city has a large history with celebrities and the motion picture industry. Frank Lloyd Wright constructed two homes in Los Feliz. Walt Disney drew the first image of Mickey Mouse in his uncle’s garage there. A couple of the very first movie studios were also set up there. Although the town is no longer a movie studio hub, many celebrities still choose to live in Los Feliz including director James Cameron, actor Ryan Gosling, and singer Gwen Stefani.
Los Feliz is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The quirky area’s abundance of vintage shops and old timey restaurants sets it apart from other nearby cities. The Dresden Room is a Los Feliz bar famous for being in the movie Swingers. If hiking is more your style, there are some great trails at Griffith Park. For adventurers, there is the old Los Angeles Zoo. Although it was shut in 1966 to build the current Los Angeles Zoo, many cages and other remnants were left behind for people to explore. Music lovers will want to check out the Greek Theater, which was a large focus of the Russell Brand, Jonah Hill comedy Get Him to The Greek. Well-known acts from all over the world regularly perform there.
