Things to do in August: Listen to tunes…
Relive one of the most iconic movies ever made at Raiders of The Lost Ark in Concert. The Hollywood Bowl is the home to this August 4th and 5th concert series. The legendary John Williams’ score will be performed live while the movie is shown in HD on the Bowl’s big screen. Tickets start at $23.
Named the best music festival in 2016 by LA Weekly, Echo Park Rising is back again August 17th-20th. Musical acts include Goldstar, Dungen, CRX, and so many more. There will also be plenty of food trucks and restaurants and bars to visit during the festival. Admission is free, but special VIP tickets are available as well.

If you couldn’t make it out to Utah for Sundance, don’t worry. Sundance Next Fest brings the film festival to LA. Movies, music, and mischief are all part of the August 10th-13th Ace Hotel event. Tickets start at $35 for individual screenings.
Celebrate art from 8 until midnight at the LACMA’s Muse ‘til Midnight event. Food, drinks, DJs, dancing, and, of course, art are all a part of the August 19th event. Tickets for the general public are $35, and your first drink is included in the ticket price.

Makeup, music, and style come together August 12th-13th at BeautyCon. The downtown event features panels with beauty influencers and celebs, DJ sets, exclusive beauty products, and tutorials. Single day tickets start at $49.99.
Cat lovers unite at the third annual CatCon. Cat adoptions, merchandise, and celebrity meet and greets are all part of the August 12th-13th Pasadena convention. Tickets start at $15.
Things are going to get spicy at the August 19th-20th CA Hot Sauce Expo. Activities at the Long Beach event include multiple crazy, spicy eating challenges, cocktail competitions, and a beauty pageant. $10 will get you a general admission ticket.
