Things to do in February: Bring the kids…

LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show

Get your sugar fix on February 10th & 11th at the LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show. The biggest baking and pastry convention on the west coast has gotten so big that this year it moved to the Anaheim Convention Center, meaning there’s more room for exhibitors, tastings, celebrity and chef meet & greets, workshops, competitions, kids activities and more. Tickets for kids start at $12, while tickets for adults begin at $25.

Mardi Gras at The Farmers Market

Celebrate Mardi Gras at The Original Farmers Market at the Grove February 10th, 11th, and 13th. New Orleans style food and King Cakes are available for purchase. The event also includes strolling parade bands, bead throwing, activities for kids, live music, and more. Admission is free to everyone.

Long Beach Mardi Gras 2018

Enjoy five hours of Mardi Gras fun during Long Beach’s Mardi Gras Parade & Festival. The February 17th event kicks off at 12pm, and the parade begins at 2pm. Music, art, food, and dancing are all a part of the free, family-friendly event as well.

The 119th Golden Dragon Parade

Visit Downtown LA’s Chinatown on February 17th to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The parade begins at 1pm. However, with the anticipated 110,000 spectators you will want to get there early to find a good viewing spot. Expect plenty of dancing, music, floats, marching bands, and food at the free event.
