Apex Estate Group Guide: Things to do in June
Our curated events and to-do’s for the month of June
Things to do in June: Dine out…
Friday nights are for wine tasting at Barsdall Art Park in Hollywood. Starting June 3rd and continuing every Friday until September 2nd, Angelenos can drink wine, have a picnic, and take in the park’s amazing views of the city. A DJ, food trucks, gourmet cheeses, and, of course, wine will be on hand for the event. Lyft will even be offering discounted rides to attendees. Tickets start at $30, and the money goes toward the park’s various programs and art projects.
Indulge in some of the tastiest treats LA has to offer at Time Out’s Donut Party. Donut vendors include ICDC, Spudnuts Donuts, DOMA Kitchen, and many more. There will also be a raffle, awesome tunes, and flash tattoos. A $25 ticket gets you one donut from each vendor, coffee, and two Strongbow Ciders at the June 11th event.
Celebrate LA’s local beer scene during beer week, June 18th-26th. The 8th annual week of drinking kicks off with a festival in the heart of Downtown, featuring over 80 craft breweries, food, and live music. Other fun happenings include tastings, dinners with special food and beer pairings, and even a beer sponsored pool party at the Ace Hotel. Ticket prices vary for each event.
Things to do in June: Try a new form of transportation…
Take a break from the car and enjoy Santa Monica’s two-mile car-free street event on June 5th. COAST is presented by the LA Metro department to show Angelenos that a car isn’t necessary to get around the city. Walk, bike, bus, or even take the metro’s new rail line, which extends from Santa Monica all the way to Downtown. The free outdoor event will showcase local food, music, and culture and includes plenty of family friendly activities.
Show off your boldness, and other assets, on June 11th for World Naked Bike Ride Los Angeles. This grassroots movement “advocates freeing our cities from oppressive, expensive, consumption-oriented infrastructure and social attitudes propped up by car-makers and oil companies.” The organizers also want the event to celebrate body freedom and body positivity. Nudity is optional, and attendees can strip down to any level they feel comfortable with. While the free event celebrates freedom and openness, any lewd behavior will result in removal.
Things to do in June: Go to an event unique to LA…
Show your pride at this year’s June 11th-12th LA LGBTQ Pride Festival in West Hollywood. This year’s performers include Carly Rae Jepsen, Faith Evans, Da Brat, Conrad Sewell, Krewella, and many more. There will be a variety of food trucks and great bars and restaurants along the Santa Monica Blvd parade route. While the parade is free, the music festival portion of Pride is ticketed. Tickets start at $25.
Take in the city from over 1,000 feet in the air at the grand opening of California’s tallest open-air observation deck. Skyspace LA will open June 25th at the U.S. Bank Tower in Downtown. The deck features a 360 degree panoramic view of Los Angeles, interactive technology, and a 45 foot long glass slide on the outside of the building. Tickets start at $19.
