Things to do in March: Enjoy nature…
Check out the new spring blooms all March long at Descanso Gardens. The month long activities include Spring Bloom walks (where you learn about Cherry Blossoms, flowering trees, and seasonal favorites on a guided walk), origami demonstrations, musical performances, talks, and an Ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arraigning) Workshop. Some events are free with your Descanso Garden admission ticket, while others range from $10-$50.

Get the whole family to take a walk on the wild side March 17th & 18th at the Natural History Museum’s LA Nature Fest. The event will feature over 30 exhibition booths, nature walks, animal presentations, crafts, stage performances, scientists, nature experts, and much more. Tickets begin at $7.
Things to do in March: Eat well…
Fill your stomach with sushi, sake, beer, ramen, and more at the Japanese Food Festival on March 2nd and 3rd. The Downtown LA event took time off last year, so they could come back even bigger and better in 2018. Over 50 exhibitors will be on hand for food and alcohol tastings, Japanese cultural performances, and more. Tickets for adults begin at $50, and kids can get in for $25.
Things to do in March: Do something different…
See the best in the worlds of snowboarding, skateboarding, and music at this year’s Air + Style Festival. Zedd, Phoenix, and Phantogram are just a few of the musical performers. Olympian Shaun White will show off his snowboarding skills. Plus, new skateboarding and streetstyle snowboarding competitions have been added to this year’s line up. Tickets for the March 3rd & 4th event begin at $79.
Revisit your childhood with all your favorite arcade games at March 16th-18th’s Arcade Expo. Over 1,100 retro to modern arcade games and pinball machines are available for freeplay at the event. There will also be tournaments, a flea market, and much more. Tickets for kids are $25, and tickets for adults begin at $45.
Things to do in March: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day…
Join 20,000 other spectators on March 17th for the 23rd Annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Over 100 local businesses, civic organizations, and school marching bands participate in the parade with bagpipers, floats, horses, and Irish Setters. The free event is great for the whole family, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars doing specials for the parade that day, as well.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the 21 and over crowd at Rock n’ Reilly’s. The restaurant touts their St. Patrick’s Day party as the biggest one west of the LA River. Food, games, and 100 kegs of green beer will be on hand for the March 17th event. The party also benefits a great cause, MVP: Merging Vets and Players. Tickets begin at $25.
